Slow Sunday Stitching

One of my goals in starting the Slow Sunday Stitching linky party three years ago was to develop an online community of like-minded people. It has been a wonderful experience getting to know amazing and creative stitchers around the world who share common interests.

Thimbles and Thing
The stitchers in this photo are a little more aggressive than the folks I was hoping to connect with, but the captions make me laugh every time I look at it!
Sunday is my favourite day.
I hop stumble out of bed every Sunday morning, make a pot of tea and enjoy visiting the blogs of my stitching friends to see what they're working on.

I love being inspired by the variety of projects being made, seeing the tools being used, and learning more about the creative process that occurs when working with your hands. Thank you for participating whenever you can through linking your posts, and through your encouraging comments for the stitchers that share each week.

This weekend I'm making some slow progress with my winter hand quilting project. This is exactly where I was sitting yesterday while putting in some stitches. I love my Ikea lamp with the flexible neck and the concentrated pool of light that is perfect for hand stitching. Today I hope to finish quilting at least one more small star block.

I want to send out a huge thank you to Stephie (a quilting blogger from the United Kingdom) for the wonderful post about my blog. Stephie I am honoured by your words and by your enthusiastic participation in the Slow Sunday Stitching community!

So what's going on this week? What are you hand stitching? Link up your blog post below and share your project and progress...

So my understanding is you visit all of our blogs with a nice hot cup of tea and then at night you quilt with a glass of wine (as per your photo). You're my kind of lady. I am reading your blog and those who linked up with my tea beside me right now. Thank you so much for the link-up I enjoy it on and off all day Sunday...and sometimes through Monday. I have been in touch with so many wonderful people through it. Enjoy your Sunday stitching.

Your Sunday photo looks pretty cozy . . . makes me wish I was working on something a little bigger this morning! LOL! Enjoy your day -- and thank you for hosting this! The benefits are two-fold: I look forward to your post and perusing the linked posts all week long *and* it keeps me motivated to having some kind of handwork going, so I can blog it and link up! You're terrific inspiration! :)

I too love to hop on every blogs linked to Slow Sunday Stitching. Thanks to you, I have discovered many wonderful bloggers and found a pool of inspiration much bigger than time allows me to do lol. The link also helps to keep the hand stitching alive, I think, as an encouraging tool to those who find their project progressing too slowly. To see other projects progressing just as slowly, keeps one on the job. Thanks Kathy for taking the time to set it up every week. Much appreciated (even if I don't participate every week.) ;^)

Your stars are looking wonderful Kathy...and I'm definitely pinching the glass of wine idea, why didn't I think of that?!?! I hope you had a peaceful day and got your star all stitched up, slowly but surely :) And the honour is all mine Kathy, really. It's pretty late here now (almost midnight), so I shall save blog hopping until tomorrow and really look forward to seeing what you've all been up to. x
