Treadling on Tuesday

In my treadling time this week, I decided to try a thicker thread as recommended by Bonnie Hunter. She suggested that some older machines don't like the very thin threads as much.
The bobbin wound up much easier with the thicker thread, and I am getting a nice stitch.
If you've had trouble with your thread breaking on your treadle, I would definitely recommend trying a heavier thread.

When I was a teen ager, I got to sew on a treadle. Would love to have a working treadle now, just for fun. Thanks foe the tip, just in case I ever need it.

I use cones of 50 weight cotton thread for piecing on my treadle, but do use the 60 weight bottom line from Superior for the bobbin. I just love the way you can sew forever with that thread LOL. I do have to adjust the tension screw on my bobbin when I use the bottom line, but it works slick for my class 15 treadle. The model you have with the shuttle bobbins may be more difficult to get the tension just right.
